Laurie Geller

Laurie Geller has served as vice president for academic affairs at Minot State University (MSU) since June 2016. She joined MSU in 2002 as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and has been recognized by students and colleagues for her teaching and advising. While at MSU, she held a number of positions on campus, including chair of the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science; associate director of First-Year Experience; director of the Honors Program; director of the Master of Arts in Teaching: Mathematics, a graduate program for practicing high school math teachers; and co-founder and co-organizer of MSU NOTSTOCK, an annual, live, hands-in, hands-on signature arts event that began in 2007.

Geller earned a Doctorate of Education in higher education from Montana State University, a Master of Science in mathematics from University of North Dakota, and Bachelor of Arts with majors in math and psychology from Minot State University.

Geller grew up in Westerville, Ohio, and has called North Dakota home since 1990. She is married to Dusty Geller and has two children, Brittany and Ian, two granddaughters, Payton and Parker, a cat named Ivy, and an adorable, energetic, and talkative corgi named Nova (with the best ears ever). When not working, she loves to bake, garden, work out, spend time outside, listen to music, and collect screen printed gig posters and other art prints.
