Consider an international business profession
Globalization has made cross-border business more common than ever. Most international business careers involve sales and marketing but, as businesses expand around the world, more entry-level management positions are opening. While some positions involve extensive travel, in many cases, international business is conducted via technology, so little or no travel may be required.

We prepare you
A degree in international business will prepare you for careers in all aspects of the global economy, including commerce, government, and industry. It can lead to employment in international management, marketing, sales, advertising, and public relations. A career as a successful global operator in international business requires you to be:

  • Willing to learn about other countries' customs and cultures
  • Patient, perceptive, and good-humored
  • Adept at learning new languages and be an excellent listener
  • Intuitive about verbal/non-verbal communications
  • Flexible, able to see things from different perspectives

Career outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, administrative services and facilities managers earn a median pay of $101,870 per year with advertising, promotions, and marketing managers earning $138,730.

Internships
All internships provide you with great hands-on learning opportunities and may lead to offers of employment. Internships may be full-time, part-time, or project-oriented and may lead to employment in international management, marketing, sales, advertising, and public relations.
Get involved
Enhance your skills and boost your knowledge by being involved in one or more of Minot State’s seven student-run business clubs and organizations. Many of the clubs participate in state, regional, and national competitions, or attend business-related events, traveling to major U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, Omaha, and Washington, D.C.

Study or intern abroad
When you take advantage of study abroad programs and international internships, you significantly enhance your professional and personal competencies. The Office of International Programs assists with program selection, financial aid, and scholarships. The office also provides support services such as predeparture orientation, visa application assistance, and general cultural guidance.
