Fitness Fun for Kids

Our fitness camp for kids is all about having fun while providing a variety of activities for kids of all fitness levels to participate in. Kids will enjoy being active while they rotate through various stations that will include playing games, a climbing wall, yoga, calisthenics, agility, and much more. Wear some tennis shoes, comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle and join the fun!

Participants will be taught basic motions, jumps, and minimal stunts that will be incorporated into a cheer routine. This fun and exciting camp will teach the importance of confidence, technique, and safety when it comes to showing your school spirit and cheering on your favorite team!

Discover the world of civil engineering! Through hands-on activities, experiments, and conversation, students will learn what civil engineers do in areas such as water resources, structures, transportation, and more. Additional emphasis will be placed on the importance of math, science, and technology, as well as brainstorming ideas, learning from mistakes, and sharing solutions.

Exploring Robotics

Have you ever wanted to create the smartest, strongest and most advanced LEGO® robot ever? If your answer is yes, then attend the Exploring Robotics Camp. Using a Robotics Invention Kit and a computer, you will design and program real robots that move and act the way you want. By programming your 32-bit microprocessor, 3 Interactive Servo motors, sound sensor, ultrasonic visual sensor, touch sensor, and light sensor, your robot will be able to move around obstacles, duck into dark corners, and do whatever creative movements you program. The possibilities are endless!

Do you have previous experience building multiple types of LEGO EV3 robots that use multiple sensors and program unique robots that do your bidding? Do you enjoy challenging yourself to figure out a new ways to create LEGO robots that do what you want in fun new ways such as climbing stairs or placing objects in different locations within a maze? Are you looking for more of a challenge and desire to work with others to see what may be possible when you create and build robots with similar challenges to work together to complete tasks? By collaborating, creating, designing, and programming a robot that can work together with another robot we hope to expand your knowledge and ideas about what is possible in a fun engaging way.

Scrappin’ 101

Students will come to class with 12-24 photos and leave with a scrapbook completed with stickers, decorative paper, and journaling. They will learn the skills of how to take better photos, how to crop photos, and how to plan their album. Most importantly they will learn how to journal their memories. Camp fee includes scrapbook kit.

Minecraft Mania

Come join us in Minecraft! Minecraft is a 3D world adventure/building game that you can play by yourself or in multiplayer mode. Players gather resources to survive the monsters that come out at night, and to build homes and creations. Come learn how to design whatever your imagine in a game by adding or removing blocks, forming really cool structures, and then play it by navigating your character through the randomly-generated 3D world. No experience is necessary to learn to play this very popular game. Students will need to purchase a Minecraft license, if they don’t already have one.

In this class, students will create and decorate sugar cookies and a small tiered cake. Kids will learn how to roll and cut fondant to create awesome edible cake designs. They will also learn the basics of how to make frosting, decorate cupcakes, and put the finishing touches on their masterpiece.

Ever wonder how those cute and creative signs are made out of pallets? Here’s your chance to learn how to make one yourself! Bring safety glasses and work gloves and learn how. You’ll be learning how to sand, nail, and paint, to make a sign that you’ll be proud to display. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!

Getting Crafty

In this class you will learn how to tie-dye, make a dreamcatcher, and do modgepodge art pieces. You will need to bring a shirt to tie-dye and something you would like to decorate with modgepodge (small vase, jar, flowerpot, frames, or small boxes). Come dressed to get messy and have fun doing it!

Basics of Portrait Drawing

During this class students will learn about the different types of shading and values that can be used with a variety of drawing pencils. Students will practice shading techniques, the value scale, and portrait basics before we begin our final portrait drawing.

Come enjoy the adventures of yoga and rock climbing! The camp will provide a fun, creative, and enriching experience through yoga movement and games while also providing a unique and rewarding experience with rock climbing, which has been shown to help build confidence, improve focus, and increase coordination in children.
